MY BABY IS GOING TO SCHOOL!!!

Well, Today is the day I have been dreading!! My baby girl (the last) is going to school!! Yes- today is kindergarten registration!! My baby will be the BIG.5!!! on Friday!! I am dreading it-she is sooooo excited!! It is hard to believe it is already here- I swear I just had her yesterday!! If she is like her sister (actually she is more independent than her big sis) after the first day of school, she will be telling me to "You can go now MOM!!" "You don't need to walk me in" and by the third day- "Just drop me off at the curb like all the other parents MOM!" Maybe I will get lucky and still get kisses every morning; but, if that were to happen it of course would be short-lived!! They grow way too fast! I was reading one of my favorite blogs this morning and could so relate to CLEMSONGIRLANDTHECOACH- she was reminiscing about her two boys-now 6 and 8 and she expressed longing for the days when she had to do EVERYTHING.FOR.THEM. I find myself on one hand wishing my baby would do more for herself and then on the other hand wishing she were still a baby that had to depend on me for everything. sigh........ Such is life!! I guess it is kind of like your first cat.....dog....etc...... They are so adorable when they are babies and then they have to grow up................DARN!!

adventures in teaching:)

okay- so my little wild child in my Wednesday night AWANA class at church never ceases to shock me. Just when I thought I could no longer be shocked by my little escape artist (3 year old boy) he does something else to really blow my mind. We had three teachers last night and while one took two boys and the only girl to the potty, my wild child pulled his jeans down, sat in the floor and with underwear still on decided he would "toss" he weewee around for lack of a better word. OMGOMGOMG! I was shocked and needless to say so was the other teacher in the room, I mean what do you say, do, etc......... I explained to him that we should not do such in front of other people much less at church. He finally pulled them back up. Whew!! The other boy was under the table, so he did not know what was going on.....Needless to say, I had to ask his father to please explain to him we don't do such things at church. Yikes!! I asked our preacher if they could start supplying medication for the Awana, VBS and Sunday school teachers who have to teach the little ones. He did not think they could but, agreed they should:)

A Southern Accent

Okay- Enough already!!!! Woke up to about 3 or 4 inches of snow here in Bakersville NC this morning and NO SCHOOL!!! The littluns won't be out of school until June 5th now-Yeah, I know that is still early, but; they start back in early August here too!! My beautiful 10 year old Katie is on the "A" honor roll again and she is going to State BIBLE Drill again on April 25th- What a smart young lady (because she is as tall as I am now- no longer a girl!!) Must take after Aunt Stacie....Aunt Kim....Aunt Jane.... or even Aunt Angel!! Sure did not take after me- although she is looking more and more like my clone these days!! Elizabeth....... Well she is a miniature JIM!!
