MY BABY IS GOING TO SCHOOL!!!

Well, Today is the day I have been dreading!! My baby girl (the last) is going to school!! Yes- today is kindergarten registration!! My baby will be the BIG.5!!! on Friday!! I am dreading it-she is sooooo excited!! It is hard to believe it is already here- I swear I just had her yesterday!! If she is like her sister (actually she is more independent than her big sis) after the first day of school, she will be telling me to "You can go now MOM!!" "You don't need to walk me in" and by the third day- "Just drop me off at the curb like all the other parents MOM!" Maybe I will get lucky and still get kisses every morning; but, if that were to happen it of course would be short-lived!! They grow way too fast! I was reading one of my favorite blogs this morning and could so relate to CLEMSONGIRLANDTHECOACH- she was reminiscing about her two boys-now 6 and 8 and she expressed longing for the days when she had to do EVERYTHING.FOR.THEM. I find myself on one hand wishing my baby would do more for herself and then on the other hand wishing she were still a baby that had to depend on me for everything. sigh........ Such is life!! I guess it is kind of like your first cat.....dog....etc...... They are so adorable when they are babies and then they have to grow up................DARN!!

adventures in teaching:)

okay- so my little wild child in my Wednesday night AWANA class at church never ceases to shock me. Just when I thought I could no longer be shocked by my little escape artist (3 year old boy) he does something else to really blow my mind. We had three teachers last night and while one took two boys and the only girl to the potty, my wild child pulled his jeans down, sat in the floor and with underwear still on decided he would "toss" he weewee around for lack of a better word. OMGOMGOMG! I was shocked and needless to say so was the other teacher in the room, I mean what do you say, do, etc......... I explained to him that we should not do such in front of other people much less at church. He finally pulled them back up. Whew!! The other boy was under the table, so he did not know what was going on.....Needless to say, I had to ask his father to please explain to him we don't do such things at church. Yikes!! I asked our preacher if they could start supplying medication for the Awana, VBS and Sunday school teachers who have to teach the little ones. He did not think they could but, agreed they should:)

A Southern Accent

Okay- Enough already!!!! Woke up to about 3 or 4 inches of snow here in Bakersville NC this morning and NO SCHOOL!!! The littluns won't be out of school until June 5th now-Yeah, I know that is still early, but; they start back in early August here too!! My beautiful 10 year old Katie is on the "A" honor roll again and she is going to State BIBLE Drill again on April 25th- What a smart young lady (because she is as tall as I am now- no longer a girl!!) Must take after Aunt Stacie....Aunt Kim....Aunt Jane.... or even Aunt Angel!! Sure did not take after me- although she is looking more and more like my clone these days!! Elizabeth....... Well she is a miniature JIM!!

OKAY- THIS IS PRICELESS. MY FOUR YEAR OLD DAUGHTER (FIVE LATER THIS MONTH) GOT TO GO SHOPPING IN THE AWANNA STORE AT CHURCH LAST NIGHT- SHE GOT A DOCTOR KIT:) THIS MORNING WHILE MY TEN YEAR OLD WAS SHOWERING I WAS THE "PATIENT" AND SHE CHECKED MY LUNGS HEART ETC WITH HER STETHOSCOPE-SO CUTE. I WAS MAKING THE LUB DUB SOUND AND SHE GOES "MOMMA-THAT IS YOU" DUH!! I SHOULD HOPE SO--- I GOT A BLOOD PRESSURE CHECK ON MY WRIST AREA WITHOUT THE STETHOSCOPE AND GUESS WHAT- DID YA KNOW SHOTS GO IN YOUR RIBS?? I AM GOING TO HAVE TO SHARE THIS WITH SOME OF THE DOCS I WORK FOR-WHO KNEW THEY HAD BEEN DOING IT WRONG ALL THESE YEARS???? MAYBE THAT EXPLAINS THE MISDIAGNOSIS OF SO MANY PEEPS!! HAHA

I did not have too many photos on my computer-but, I really like this one-NO that is not my husband. That is Jeremy Camp- a contemporary christian artist. He is awesome. I was fortunate enough to see him in Gatlinburg last spring at the Women of Joy Conference. Unfortunately I won't be able to attend this year; maybe next year:) Anyway, have not blogged all week- been very busy but, I have been following my faves!! A Southern Accent had a story about government grants scam and I think I signed up for that too -so, I am in the process of checking on that whole situation-UGH!! I thought that since it was linked to the coupon mom website, it was okay-guess not!! Man, a lot of trouble just to try to clip coupons and save some money!! What ever happened to all the honest hardworking people?? What is the world coming to? Catch ya all later- happy blogging:) Oh yeah- been dieting for a week and a half and have already lost 5 pounds-yeehaw!!

First- Let me say Stacie- you bite!! It will be about 15 weeks until time to go to visit ya'll in Va Beach and you are going to Alabama in 37 days - man that sucks. Well, Friday was a rough day!! Friday marked one year since my friend and co-worker Lisa Stafford died. It is hard to believe it has been a year --- myself and a couple of the girls from the office went to her gravesite as lunchtime. We all miss her so much!! She was only 36 and left behind two beautiful children. I checked on her widower and he was picking the kids up form school Friday and heading to Myrtle Beach with them for the weekend. Johnathon is 12 and Abby is 10. Abby still refers to Lisa in present tense. They are doing as well as they can I guess. Today, My Hardy would have been 83 years old- he went to heaven on December 30, 2008, although he was not my real father- he was the only father I really knew and he was certainly more of a father than anyone had been. He was very special and I miss him immensely. My friend in Cary was in a very bad car accident last Tuesday and is in the hospital- they had to cut her out of the vehicle. She was by herself-thank GOD!! She had been on the way to pick up her two children Callie age 4 and Jackson age 4 months from the babysitters. She has broken leg bones, arm bones, vertebrae, metal rods and pins etc. Please keep her in your prayers. It also has rained all weekend!!! UGH!! At least it is staying a little warmer now and after today they are saying the rest of the week will be nice!! Finally!! Looking forward to some nice weather and sunshine. I am going to the fat doctor this evening- gotta get rid of some of this weight I guess before summer comes. Not that I will EVER wear a bikini again. Hee Hee. I am soooo enjoying blogging and have such a blast reading Wacies Way, the pink clutch, Misadventures of a Newlywed, Clemsongirl and the coach, A southern Accent, and Another online Mom- if you know of any others I might like- let me know:) Well, hopefully all my friends' children are on the mend- there has been so much sickness-flu, stomach bug, etc. By the way the town of Spruce Pine is no longer a dry county!! They voted in alcohol-the churches here are having a field day!! TTFN!

Another day in paradise

hey peeps- didn't do a blog yesterday- too busy following everyone else's!! Clemson girl cracks me up! Well, I guess my spring weather is gone again- supposed to get freezing rain tonight. Yuck- hope we don't miss any more school, we are up to june 4th dismissal right now after starting with May 28th!! I know, I know that is still early but, we start back during the first week of August here. oh well, such is life. Lots of flu. strept, stomach bug, and microplasm pneumonia here at the hospital right now. Gotta stay away from patient floor- don't want any of that to cause me to have to use my vacation time for sick days, I refuse to cut into my two weeks of heaven this summer in Va Beach. If anyone has ever been to Great Wolf Lodge- I am soo looking forward to that to. It is nice to have a whole indoor/outdoor water park within your hotel at your disposal and not have to worry about the kids. Nice to have a bar at the outdoor pool, etc too..... My friends Stacie and Kim and their children are going this year too- we are going to have a blast!! altogether we have about 18 people from my friends and family going. It really is a good deal when you figure water park passes are included. Come on Summertime. My bud Stacie has not been on her blog for a couple days- I see how she is- get me hooked and then desert me...... man, some friend you are. Gotta do a little work now... Catch ya'll later.

gonna be another pretty day today in the mountainland. About 64 ish-take that Angel!! Don't get too excited though- supposed to get rain and or snow and cooler temps by the weekend!! I WANT SPRING!! Roxy is at the vet-say a prayer!! Big vote today in Spruce Pine NC town limits- alcohol!! Only town limit residents can vote. That leaves me out. I am very conflicted about the vote. Anyone who knows me knows I love my wine!! It is already available here at the golf course (at a huge markup) because of the resort status (being so close to the blue ridge Parkway and all) but, some of the locals want to be able to get tax revenue from the sales- the vote is for beer, wine, spirits, liqour by the drink and an ABC store-Hah! We are already having a problem here with the illegal mexicans (they are in the arrest report in our paper every week with DUI, no lis., no regisatration, yadayadayada......) Unfortunately, working in the health care field, I see a lot and I feel at this point the bigger issue is the drug problem with our youth as well as adults and it is not just the illegal ones-it is prescription drugs too- a lot of fatal OD's in our teens lately!! I have looked in the bible and although I am aware the wine in those times was not fermented probably- it does say in the bible to take wine for your stomachs sake!! Say a prayer- not sure where this needs to go. We have such a problem with no jobs and no income in some that I fear having alcohol more readily available up here will further exacerbate the problem. I heard on the news last night that there are a lot more cases of child abuse in the
ER's around Western NC and it is attributed directly to the stress and frustration of the loss of jobs and income. The economy has got to get better-Pray for jobs!! My friend Angel in Texas last her job a year ago and now has a home based business selling Silpada jewelry!! If anyone is interested- let me know!! They have some beautiful pieces!! So much for my ramblings for now gotta get some work done:)

Well, another beautiful day in the mountains- it was already in the fifties when I left this morning-shirt sleeve weather:) My friend Stacie (WaciesWay) has added me to her list even though she is a diehard skins fan. In her words, bless her heart.... all in good fun! She will understand this next tidbit- our dog Roxy is having trouble with her left back leg-won't put any wieght on it..... I had to call and get a vet appointment for her tomorrow, I fear it is hip dysplasia and if so, there really isn't anything we can do as she is a bird hunting dog (German short-haired pointer) Ya'll help me pray that is it something else although there is absolutely nothing visible with her leg or paw. My girlfriend Stacie lost her beloved dog KIKI two weeks ago and just adopted a very needy dog named Harley...... she can relate as all my girlfriends can. We all have or have had family dogs and feel the loss so deeply. My friend Kim had to have her beloved weimeraner (sp?) put to sleep recently too- her name was kitty-cool huh?? The name of course not the putting to sleep. I remember my friend Angels dog she was a spitz I think named Crystal- so cool!! Whenever I visited Stacie- her dog KIKI would stare at you and howl if you got her going. She was so sweet. We used to call Angel's dog Crystal Light-haha. They truly become part of the family.... Calling all Dallas Cowboys fans- now we are on the move- finally got rid of dead weight T.O. (Terrell Owens), best move Jerry Jones ever made!! Of course- he was snatched up by the Buffalo Bills (Bad move on their part) It is finally looking like the Cowboys are going to have a banner season. Look out Deadskins!! If only they had snatched up deadweight T.O-oh well!! It was a gorgeous day here in Bakersville North Carolina- no snow yeeha!! Come on Spring!! My girlfriend in Texas likes to text me every day it is cold here and let me know it is 70' ish in Texas- I usually tell her to bite me! Love my mountains- hate the cold. I guess that is what growing up in Va Beach does for you.
